Group Experience Package
If you’re a group looking for a memorable getaway together in a beautiful, quiet place then Mohaka River Farm is the venue for you.
Our Group Experience package is available after Easter to Labour Weekend and includes catered and self-catered options.
Accommodation is located in the groups zone of our holiday park and includes the sole use of our Conference Centre. Your group can enjoy all that is offered at Mohaka River Farm including access to 200 acres and 2.5 km of river frontage, camp fires in the evening, trout fishing, petting the animals such as the ducklings and pony etc. In addition, we will work with you to build a custom itinery for your group. You can choose from the following activities to round out your stay:

Accommodation
Presented with many of the comforts of home, guests enjoy a warm and comfortable stay in the cottages and cabins in the designated groups zone of the holiday park. With a variety of room and bedding options, groups select the best configuration for their needs. The cottages have modernized bathrooms, well equipped kitchenettes and comfortable couches for relaxation. Group accommodations are located within 50 m of the Conference Centre and are an easy 5 minute walk from the Mohaka River that flows around our boundary. Guests have access to the network of trails over the 280 acre farm.
Catering / Self-Catering
We are experienced in catering to groups and provide fresh, nutritious and tasty meals made onsite in our licensed commercial kitchen. Our staff work with groups to ensure that special dietary needs are taken care of and that meals are timed to suit the group’s programme and budget. Self-catering groups use the fully equipped Conference Centre Kitchen and are able to utilize the BBQs, smokers and pizza oven.
Conference Centre
Includes large deck area, large main room (22m x 6m) with adjoining kitchenette with servery for hot drinks. Dining for 60 people. Wifi is available with sufficient connectivity to engage with remote colleagues. The commercial kitchen is well equipped and there is also a large deck attached to the dining room with tables and outside chairs, grills, smokers and pizza oven.
Horse Trekking
Mohaka River Farm is becoming well known for its exceptional horse trekking experiences. Our head guide Fleur has a love for teaching so the trek is so much more than just a horse ride, it’s an introduction to horses and horsemanship where participants come
away with new skills, knowledge and confidence. We can take up to 10 riders at a time and will arrange treks around your group’s programme. Treks wind gently over farm land and through a pine forest and take in stunning views of the farm, the river and the surrounding mountain ranges.
Complimentary Farm Experience
At Mohaka River Farm we value the relational approach to farming and want to share what we are learning about farming and sustainability with our guests. If your group has time during your stay we would love to take you out and let you experience our working farm. There are seasonal opportunities to do and learn all aspects of farm life, and we’ll work with you to create the ideal engagement for your group.
Hands-On Craft
Have you ever wanted to make a hand-crafted gift? In just over two hours, you can learn how to make a wooden spoon, a hand printed table runner or bag, or weave a basket. We will fit the craft session in around your program and around the number of people you have.
River Rafting
The Mohaka River is renown for it’s clean water, steep cliffs and natural beauty and is very popular for rafting. The stretch from Mohaka River Farm to State Highway 5 is gentle with grade 1 and 2 rapids. This stretch is also excellent for fishing. You can arrange a rafting trip for your group with either of the local rafting companies Raftfish.com and MohakaRafting.com
Pricing
Pricing covers everything from Friday afternoon arrival through to Sunday afternoon departure. Discounts are available for mid-week visits and longer stays, please enquire for more details.
Self – Catered : Group size 12 – 25 : $150 pp (Ages 3-16 $115). Includes – Accommodation, Conference Centre and Farm Experience. Note : Groups self-cater and use commercial kitchen that includes ovens, fridges, deep freezer, sterilizer, large pots and pans, utensils, plates, cups, cutlery and serving dishes.
Catered : Group size 12 – 25 : $260 pp (Ages 3-14 $200). Includes – Fully Catered meals including hot soups, pasta, wood-fired pizza, continental breakfast and hot brunch, Accommodation, Conference Centre and Farm Experience

Booking
Book early to secure your preferred dates. A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. Cancellation – The deposit is fully refundable, less an administration fee of $50, if the cancellation is received 2 weeks or longer before the booking. There are no refunds for cancellations less than 2 weeks before the booking.
